I had an appointment today. Nothing to grand or special. I didn't have to go into Bethesda, MD. Thank goodness. It takes at least an hr to get there then you have to wait and you repeat yourself and you feel like just a number in a huge crowd of pregnant women. I am at a low risk and so I am able to have my appointments here on Fort Meade (so much nicer). I don't feel like a number, I don't have to repeat myself over and over and I feel like it is a little more personable and that they are interested in providing quality care. I will also see the same doctor next time.
As far as this appointment went I basically just talked with the doc and she answered all my questions and she was happy that I have gotten my weight up from when I lost 13 pounds from the morning sickness/dehydration. She asked me if I have been throwing up a lot. I told her that as long as I have my meds I do ok. She made sure that I have enough and reassured me that I could call at any time to get more if I need it. I said I still have another refill left and so I should be covered for a while. So other than asking questions and her checking to see how the morning sickness was we were able to listen to the baby's heartbeat. It was strong and the heart rate was 155.
I was very happy to know all is well and it was quite fun to know that the baby kept moving to get away from the doppler device. She had to move it twice cause baby kept moving away from it. Maybe baby is a little shy.
So overall it was a great appointment and my next one is on Halloween! Plus I have the 20 week ultrasound scheduled for Oct 16th!
