Week 39: The final week

How far along? *39 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 25 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes,
Stretch marks? Only one!
Sleep? Has been fine, just a few wake ups that take a bit to get back to sleep but overall its good.
Best moment last week? Just knowing that I feel good and knowing the little one is doing well.
Movement? Yes, mostly at night.
Food cravings? Water, does that count?
Labor signs? I have been having some cramping and some back pains and I guess that could be a sign.
Belly button in/out? My belly button is in, out, and level. Take that!
What I miss: I am missing little things but nothing really all that grand.
What I am looking forward to: Just having her here and having the anxiety over with.
Milestones: Almost to our due date!

So long story short things have been going well and I am getting more and more anxious as time passes. I don't know if I am really ready for this BIG step but I know that Heavenly Father knows we are ready and that he trusts us with this special gift. It is comforting but still very scary!
I am not a huge fan of just sitting and waiting for things to happen but again I know that this will happen when they happen and that no matter what has to happen that that is just what I need to go through. Hopefully that made sense.

Maternity pics: 2

Like I said, we went and took a few more pictures today. And again I am sure it is not the last time either. So here are a few more. I hope you like them!

Maternity Pics

YAY, I have my photographer back and we figured that we really need to take some maternity pics before the little one comes since she can basically come at anytime now. The few we took are only of me since we need to figure out how to get my lovely photographer in the pictures. But we will figure it out..... Eventually.

But here are a few and hopefully later this week we will take some more.

I'm excited to do more with these pictures with the photo shop program that we have and Skyeler's knowledge with everything. I must say he really is getting better and more skilled and I LOVE the pics where he adjusts the white balance and makes my hair color really pop. So what ones do you like?  And again we will be taking more later so you will have more too look at. I guess we have to make up for the lame bump pics I had to take while he was at airborne.

36 Weeks 6 days: AKA 37 weeks.

How far along? *37 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 23 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes,
Stretch marks? Maybe one small stretch mark?!?
Sleep? Hasn't been to bad since Sky got home and we have been out running errands and by the time we get home I'm exhausted.
Best moment last week? Having her daddy come home from Airborne training.
Movement? Yes, and I do find it extremely funny that the little one likes to hang out on my right side and will only kick there. It seems like I have to fight her at times for my side and keep pushing her foot away from it.
Food cravings? Not so much lately.
Labor signs? No, well my last appointment the doc said I am 50% thinned out. So I guess that is technically a labor sign. But I have not had any contractions or other labor signs.
Belly button in/out? My belly button is in, out, and level. Take that!
What I miss: I am missing not having my body keep adjusting..
What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to things that are not baby related..... I just keep thinking of having my own place. But I am looking forward to the first moments that the little one is with her daddy. I just know it will be super special.
Milestones: Well I think that since I haven't gone crazy and dying to have this baby out of me is a good milestone. Especially since everyone tells you the last little bit is the hardest. I feel really good for the most part and just happy that the little one is alive and well.

Here is a pic of me at 36 weeks and 6 days. (I'm just going to say 37 weeks). My photographer is finally back so it is actually a decent pic. If only I was a little more photogenic. oh well better than the bathroom mirror pics.

Anyway.... Things are going well with the pregnancy. I am now to weekly appointments! That is a little weird to think about. But I guess the real "weird" thing is knowing that I am basically full term and that the little one can come at any moment if she wanted to. My last appointment I was checked to see if I have been dilating and what not and I haven't dilated but I am approximately 50% thinned out. So who knows how long it will be before she will make her debut. Either way my body is prepping and adjusting and we will be meeting our little one this month! Scary/Exciting!

Baby Shower # 3

Last Saturday my mom and a few of my aunts on my step-dad's side put together a baby shower for the little one and I. It was enjoyable and I am quite blessed to have such a big family even if the majority of them are "step" relatives they have all readily accepted me and treat me like everyone else. I am truly grateful for all of them. Both on my step-mom's and my step-dad's side.

But anyway I feel that I received a lot of useful items and not a lot of the convenient but not necessary items. I am very glad I got the needed and useful items! Means less for me to buy and since life is kinda crazy and up it the air that is quite a blessing.

Here are a few pics that Alex took. (Thank you stand in Photographer)

34 Weeks 6 Days

So there was a game of basically remembering what was on the tray. Well Alex cheated.

Anyway, I enjoyed my time and I am glad that I no longer have any plans to be out of the area anytime soon. I am kind of anxious and I want to stay in a closer than not proximity to the hospital. :) I just realized that they really went out and made it as color coordinated as possible. I told them that my colors were purple and green! I just love those little flowers. Just so happy.

Week 35: OH BOY!!!

This weeks post is really about the same as it was last time. Not much has changed but I still decided to post it.  Please excuse the pictures. They were taken on my phone and really it kinda sucks having my photographer MIA. :) But at least they still give you an idea of how big I am....

Week 33-34 - I don't remember..

Week 34

How far along? *35 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss? 18 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes,
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep? Again this week has been horrible. I am always getting up and I am finding it more difficult to get comfortable.
Best moment last week? Just knowing how much her daddy loves her.
Movement? Yes, it is getting less. I guess she doesn't have much room in there.
Food cravings? Food and a lot of it.
Labor signs? No,
Belly button in/out? It is just about even but it is still in.
What I miss: I miss her daddy. But I do miss being able to breathe normally and not getting up in the middle of the night.
What I am looking forward to: I am looking forward to having Sky home again and to see her little face and dress her up in all the cute stuff we have. I am also looking forward to making a routine and getting Skyeler a job and an apartment. OH I can't wait for our own apartment.
Milestones: Still being able to breathe even if it is difficult. I also think that being this far along and surviving 2.5 weeks without hubbies help is quite the milestone.

Today, Dad and Kandie help me with organizing all our baby stuff and giving me advice on what we still need. It was EXTREMELY helpful and needed. Especially since I was so down this past weekend and stressed that all I could do was cry. I think part of that was having Skyeler gone but come on I am 35 weeks pregnant. that is kinda stressful all on its own. Especially with this being our first. I am so nervous and worried about getting everything ready and knowing what to do and how to use stuff. But at least my brain is a little more at ease with my parents help.

Thoughts, thoughts, and more thoughts.

As most of you know I am not a huge fan of putting my feelings or thoughts out to anyone and everyone out in cyber land, but once in a while you just have a lot on your mind and you need to get it out. I have hit one of those moments where I have so much going on on the inside that I just can't get it to process and have my mind make sense of it all.

First and foremost I am missing Skyeler terribly. It really has affected my sleep and just my overall mood. All day long I sit and wait for his phone call and on nights where I don't get to spend a long time talking to him I get a little down. I know that this training is completely different than BCT but still. I miss him and I NEED him badly. Especially with little one growing and kicking and of course not being able to roll over in bed very easily. :) (that was my attempt to make you laugh).  I am so very blessed to have Skyeler in my life and to have him as my eternal companion. I don't know where I would be without him. He really is my whole life. So when he isn't here I feel like I'm not where I need to be. Not that being at Airborne training is where I need to be. I don't think my doc would approve of that sort of training. :P another attempt to make you laugh.

My next thought that is on my mind is the apartment hunting process. There are so many in's and out's and things to think about and I know that I could just go pick one and it would be fine but I am always wanting to make sure we are where we are suppose to be. But deep down I just have a feeling that I need to wait just a little bit longer. I need to know what our income will be and where Skyeler will be working. It isn't that I feel like we are looking in the wrong place I just feel that something good will happen if I just hold out just a little bit longer. I hope that is right. Having that patience is difficult when you are wanting the same things that I do.

For my third thought it is about life in general... How far I have come since I was a kid and all the life events making me who I am today. Wishing I knew more about things and less about others, wondering if I am going to be a satisfactory parent with my lack of baby knowledge. How does one prep for something they know absolutely nothing about and have a very limited number of individuals that conversation about this topic is comfortable. Then knowing how to put it into words so the other person understands and knows that it is important to you. I find it very interesting my feelings on this matter... (babies in general). I never have the same feelings two days in a row. I go from extremes every day. I have heard this is normal so no worries, especially once they get to the point where I am at. A lot of this is very vague I know, but I don't think you want to read about it all. If you do it will probably be in my Journal where I do put my feelings into a little more detail down on paper so you can attempt to steal it. Just know you might have a nasty consequence for attempting. :)

So between missing Skyeler, finding an apartment/him a job, and all my thoughts about life and the next few months plus past 24 years I have a lot going on in my head and it is all jumbled up. So if I am a little spaced please be patient with me. I will get it organized eventually. Just know that I do not feel sorry for myself. I am glad that all things will end and some of these thoughts and feelings will organize themselves in due time. I just need to make it that far! :P

Week 33:

This week has been interesting so far. Baby has been a little less active but she still moves quite a bit a certain times. Skyeler also left for Airborne training and I really miss having him home and helping me out with things.
I know there isn't a picture but I need to get someone to take one for me so you don't have the bathroom in the background.

Baby Shower(s)

This past week I have had 2 baby showers. One was in Bountiful and was hosted by Lindsay, Debbie, and Mollie. The other was in Blanding and hosted by Skyeler's mom Julie. I had fun at each and I am so glad that I got a lot of needs and not a bunch of clothes. Dad and Kandie for Christmas gave us our baby gift with our Christmas gift which was a crib. We got to go pick it out since our life situation is so crazy and Dad and Kandie wanted to make sure we got what we needed etc... The sisters all went in and got baby a travel system, so a car-seat/stroller. I am so glad someone with baby experience picked it out. I was quite surprised and excited over the gift. I am glad that I don't have to worry about buying it and picking a crappy one plus now I am comforted with the fact that even if baby does come early we can take her home and give her a place to sleep. I was getting a little stressed with not having a car-seat because that is a MUST in order to take baby home.

Some other gifts included a car-seat cover, clothes, fitted crib sheets, diapers, medicine, bouncer, rubber duckies, blankets etc.. ooh and I got this amazing homemade diaper bag for Christmas from Mollie. The crazy thing is that even with all of these things I still feel so unprepared. I want to organize and have everything ready but I can't do that yet. I think that is the most frustrating part... Nothing in this pregnancy has gone the way I thought it would when it comes to prepping.

I do have a few pics and I will eventually post those. I'm sure I will have TONS of time coming up, starting in the next few days. Overall I am happy with all that has been given to us in preparation for baby. I feel so loved and blessed and I am so glad that our little one is coming to a good home with many many people who will love her and already do. I guess that is just one of the biggest things you want for your children... for them to be loved and welcomed. I can't believe that I will get to meet her soon.

Week 31: Baby Bump Photo's

I know it has been a while since I have put up any baby bump pics. Well now that the whole family has seen me I decided that I would put up a few pics.

Week: 30

Holy crap, time has been flying very fast lately. I can't believe that we are already at week 30! This is kind of exciting but yet scary at the same time. I have lots to do and think about before this little one comes and I don't have a lot of time left.

How far along?  *30 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss?  14 pounds
Maternity clothes?  Yes,
Stretch marks?  Nope
Sleep? Has been a lot better now that Sky and I are sleeping on a Queen mattress and it isn't on the floor.
Best moment last week? Seeing people for the first time since being home and seeing everyone's excitement.
Movement?  Yes, and I love it
Food cravings?  Fruit
Labor signs?   No,
Belly button in/out?  In,
What I miss:  I miss not being kicked in the bladder.
What I am looking forward to:  I am looking forward to the baby shower!
Milestones: I think hitting 30 weeks is quite a milestone plus still feeling good about how the pregnancy has gone so far.

This might be my last post without a belly bump photo! I think by this weekend I will have seen my entire family and so I will feel better about not ruining the surprise of how big/little my belly is. I find it so funny how big I feel but everyone says that I am so small. I will take everyone else's advice since I really don't know what is big for 6-7 months.

Oh I also had my first appointment since coming back to Utah and it went well. This doctor is going to go by the Feb 24th due date and not March 1st due date. YAY, for some reason I am very happy and excited about that. I know that the due date really isn't a big deal but when you have a doc that makes you feel stupid about when your baby is due and is just rude about it you tend to want to ignore what they say.

Week 22

I know it has been a while since I last updated you with all the questions.. There just wasn't much exciting stuff happening and not a lot of changes. Plus I was waiting for a really good belly photo since this one will be my last until Christmas time!

How far along?  *22 Weeks.

Best moment last week? Finding out our little on is a girl, everything ultrasound related, and watching my belly move because of kicks from baby.
Movement?  I have been feeling movement like crazy. Funny thing is that I can usually predict when baby will be active.
Food cravings?  I still want fruit and sweets. Ice cream always hits the spot but in all reality when does ice cream not hit the spot.
Labor signs? None.
Belly button in/out?  In
What I miss:  Bending forward with ease.
What I am looking forward to:  I can't think of anything at the moment.
Milestones: Passing the halfway mark. I can't believe how fast everything is going.

Here are a few pics for you since I couldn't pick just one....

I know some of them are really dark again. I hate it when the sun sets a little too quickly. But some still look kinda cool Things have been going better lately with the morning sickness. I still have my days every so often but I have learned what needs to happen when I feel certain ways and I know when to stay away from certain foods as well.  I have an appointment next week and I am looking forward to that.
Hopefully the next time we take some pictures we can get some better ones that aren't so dark. Good think I have my own personal photographer that we can go out when needed and I don't have to pay for it!

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

What a wonderful day.

Well long story short, Skyeler was able to come with me to my appointment and there were no issues when I went to pick him up. The appointment went well. It was LONG but it went well. There are no concerns and I don't need any follow up ultrasounds.
Our ultrasound tech was new and so we were there for quite a while but it is okay. It just means that we got to watch the screen for a lot longer than what is normal. We got a few pics that are worthy to show off. We don't have a good profile pic but I am happy with what we have. I know that some of these are obvious but I am going to label them anyway.

Arm

Back profile. This is Sky's favorite for some reason. He may be teasing but it is kinda cool looking.

Arm covering the face. Baby sure loved to have the face covered.

Face
I am just amazed at ultrasounds. Especially when they move it around so much and you get completely confused at what you are looking at. I like to say that I am ok at looking at ultrasounds because I had an intern with and OB/GYN in high school and got to watch a lot of these but the doc was ALWAYS explaining what things were.
It was so comforting to see the baby move. There were times when we were all looking at the screen and baby would move and I just had to say that I felt it. Other times we were waiting for the tech so Skyeler and I would sit and watch my belly be kicked by baby since they were strong enough to be seen on the outside.
Over all it was a great appointment and a great day.
I will post 1 more belly pic soon, but then you will have to wait till you see me in person! :)

*on a very random side note, I will be changing the settings on my blog soon to make it a private one... Just so you guys know.

"Tomorrow, tomorrow, your only a day away!"

For about a month I haven't been able to think much of anything else (besides heading back to Utah) than what is going on in my life tomorrow. Tomorrow is Oct 16th and I have my 20 week ultrasound in Bethesda at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Ever since I made my appointment back in September I have been hoping and praying that Skyeler will be able to come with me. To me it is such a big deal that he is there. I have always in-visioned my husband coming to every OB appointment with me as we anticipate what will be happening next and just being able to allow our relationship to grow and become more close with our excitement in this adventure. But so far he has only been able to come with me once to anything and that was taking me to the E.R. to get my 2nd I.V.  So this has been far from what I have wanted. BUT....... luckily Skyeler's sergeant and instructors have given him the go-ahead to be able to come with me and to get out of class and for me to be able to drive him during the work hours. (I wasn't able to drive him to an eye appointment a couple months ago because he can't ride in a POV privately owned vehicle during the work hours). Again I hoped that this would happen but I never thought that it would because hey... it is the Army. So as of now it is just making sure Skyeler gets his name on a sick call list in his ACU's at 4:30 a.m. (Yes, they are that technical/picky that they have to be in uniform just in order to sign a sick call sheet.) I am a little anxious about him getting his name on that list because if he doesn't he can't go with me. Needless to say I have been a little worked up about everything going smoothly.

I am very anxious for this appointment tomorrow. I know that this are going well with the little one, but there is always this worry deep down that I can't shake. I constantly have to know that baby is ok, and I hate how my appointments are 6 weeks apart from each other. I want appointments at least every 4 just so I can listen to a heartbeat or something. I know that I have been able to start feeling baby move and baby has been throwing some harder ninja punches but if I am not feeling them constantly my worry starts up again. I am sure that is all very normal, especially after losing one. I don't think one ever really gets over that. I do know that it has effected this pregnancy.

Wish me luck tomorrow... I can't wait to be comforted about how things are going and to have Skyeler with me. We don't know for sure if we will find out the gender or not. It all depends on baby and I still haven't decided when or how I will inform family. It has been really hard for me to be so far away and not get the feedback from family and friends in person. So even if we do find out, we might not say anything until the family is together in person for Christmas.

Week 19: Almost Halfway There!

I am sucking in as much as I can...

Baby bump + Food baby.

How far along?  *19 Weeks.
Total weight gain/loss?   I am at 119. So lost 13 gained 12.
Maternity clothes?  Yes, Even though last week I said I would be far from it. I decided to try on some maternity pants that was given to me by one of my sisters and lets just say I would rather wear the maternity pants than my newly washed jeans.
Stretch marks?  Nope
Sleep?  Better than last week, even with more 2:00 am trips to the restroom.
Best moment last week? umm, I guess just realizing my baby bump is bigger than I thought it was.
Movement?  Still only every so often but I feel it more and more.
Food cravings?  Fruit and certain sweets.White fluffy cake!!!
Labor signs? None.
Belly button in/out? In- But it has started to slant upwards.
What I miss:  I guess I miss being around family.... Since this being our first baby and I am not getting all the excitement vibes from family and friends in person, it has been kinda hard.

What I am looking forward to:  Still looking forward to my 20 week ultrasound.
Milestones: Almost halfway!! I'm not sure if this is a milestone but, I had the first person rub my belly.

So really nothing much to update on besides realizing maternity pants don't put pressure on your belly like my recently washed jeans were. If I the pants  have been worn and a little stretch then I can wear my regular pants just fine. But they do tend to slide down below my hips.

Week 18:

So someone out there thought it would be fun for me to have a little questionnaire thing that I fill out weekly or whenever something new happens with the pregnancy. I think that it would be a good idea so that everyone can stay up-to-date on the pregnancy and how things go especially since I am 2,300 miles away from family. I admit when I really think about being pregnant and so far from home I am a little sad that I don't have family asking how I am doing whenever we see each other. I just get asked from a distance and you can't really explain quite as well in blog or email how things are going and to show your excitement or to see others excitement. But it has been a good experience for me and a good opportunity for Sky and I to really grow together as our family. So I have agreed to answer these questions every so often as an update on how things are going.
*I am putting my due date down as Feb 24th even though the docs still insist on it being March 1st. (only 5 days difference) but I already have my countdown and app set for the 24th. So my exact day or week pregnant is approximate. Not that you can be exactly sure anyway. *
So here are 13 questions that I will answer, unless there is something you are wanting to know or be updated on that is not on this list and I could add it to it.

Taken just prior to posting this. So you can see not much of a baby bump.

How far along?  *18 Weeks.
Total weight gain/loss?   I loss 13 to start with and I have now gained 11 of that back. I am almost to my pre-pregnancy weight. I am currently 118 pounds.
Maternity clothes?  Nope, I think I am far from it. But we will see.
Stretch marks?  Nope, I feel like I will never start showing to the outside world.
Sleep?  Depends on the day and if I take a pill or not. My nausea pills make me so tired. It also depends on how many times Skyeler wakes me up in the early mornings while getting ready for PT, School, or if he has a CQ shift in the middle of the night. He will either wake me up 2-4 times a night. Not including the "Skyeler.... You need to move over" because we are sleeping on a full sized bed and my pillows need space. Na, actually I feel like I am always on the edge of the bed and to me it seems like he has more space on his side than I do on mine.
Best moment last week? By far is feeling the baby move for the first time!!! Plus having a good appointment and knowing baby is alive and well.
Movement?  Just starting! I feel a little thud every so often or just little flutters when I am relaxed.
Food cravings?  Fruit and certain sweets. Mostly fruit with whipped cream or a nice white fluffy cake! ahhhhhhhhhh I crave cake.. But alas I don't give in to that one.
Labor signs? None.
Belly button in/out? Very much in.
What I miss:  I really miss Utah and my bed. I want the space and comfort and to feel engulfed and just comfortable.
What I am looking forward to:  I am looking forward to my 20 week ultrasound (hoping Sky will be able to come with me) and I am looking forward to sleep. I feel quite tired but that isn't anything new.
Milestones: I guess just being able to hear the heartbeat and know it is strong and being able to feel movement. I feel so blessed and happy to know that the little one is alive and well. I also haven't thrown up for over a week! WOOOOOO.

So again please let me know if there is anything else you would like to know or if these do an adequate job at updating you on how the pregnancy is going.

There you go Alex, Just for you!!!

Special Delievery Announced.

Well everyone the time has come to start to announce what most of you already know or have figured out. We are pregnant.
So far it has been quite a trial to stay hydrated and something in my system. I was so use to eating maybe once a day and I would hardly drink any water so now that I have to it is really hard to get into that habit. Hence why last night I had to go to the E.R. to get another I.V. NO I didn't take pictures of this one sorry. But Skyeler was there to keep me company and the majority of the time I had a nurse or someone in there trying to use a hand-held dopler and try to hear the baby's heartbeat. But they only got mine. HA ha.. So later they took me in for an Ultrasound and we got this lovely picture.

What I love about this is that you can see a little foot right above the belly. Plus you can see the face and overall it is a good pic. Especially for my first ultrasound pic ever.

I think the best part is that Skyeler got to be there and see the ultrasound and be able to see for himself the heartbeat and the baby. He had such a HUGE smile on his face and it was just really special to watch him watch the screen. I am still trying to get use to the idea of being a parents and having this HUGE life change but I just love the idea of doing all this with my husband. He is such a strength to me and I love his excitement over starting our family. So slowly I am getting more and more excited.
