The gingerbread arson will not win..

Chris got home the other day and we checked out our damage.... Basically Chris is happy cause he gets a new shed out of it and we got rid of all his crap!! YAY, so Skyeler doesn't feel as bad and were kinda glad that in a weird sort of way we did an act of service. Earlier we had an insurance guy come over and he said that he had to go get another guy to come look at it but for sure they will replace the shed and it won't be a tin one. Good thing cause this past summmer we were shooting arrows and put a couple holes in it as well. Such a crappy shed.

If you want some pics before I actually get it up here cause who knows when that will be, I figured out how to email pictures from my phone so just give me your email add and I'll show you our damage.

Arson by the Gingerbread man.

Yesderday Skyeler, Morgan, Me, and a bunch of Kavans friends went out to the very back of our backyard to blow up this HUGE gingerbread castle that some friends of ours made. Skyeler was recording it wanting to make a movie from it and they went out and bought the little army guys that are like the ones from toy story so that they could be protecting the castle from invasion.

Well the blowing up part was cool. A little slow but cool since we only had blackcats and a few m-80's and had to light them one by one but the job still got done. We had some awesome big explosions throwing gingerbread every where and some that only blew frosting off of it. At the end Skyeler put gasoline on it has we just watched it burn / melt while recording the last little bit of the film.

After we all got done I told Sky that he needed to take care of it since I really didn't want the dog to get into it eat the left overs and get ash everywhere. So we all came in and I started to give Peanut a bath since he had basically been rolling around in the mud / snow.

Around 1:00ish this morning I could still smell the fire and was thinking really the smell is going to last this long. Then I kept hearing the dog bark and bark and was thinking gee I probably should go put that shock collar on him so he doesn't wake people up. Well a little while later around 1:30ish Sky thought he heard someone knocking on the door upstairs so he went up and came back down saying the old dog house that is behind the shed is on Fire!! Skyeler and I hurried and got some shoes and jackets on and went out back. There were huge flames coming up and around the shed and some Firemen were already there checking stuff out. (the dog house was a old one that Chris made for Peanut when they first got him, so if your thinking it was our nice one we just made it isn't.)

As we were watching things I turned to Skyeler and asked him exactly what he did with the gingerbread castle. He said they put a lot of snow on it put put everything out, and then in order to keep it away from the dog he put it on top of the old dog house by the shed and then put more snow on it. Needless to say it was still warm or there were still fireworks in it or something because we had quite the flames. By this time it was probably a good 10 hrs after we had played with it.

Well the Firemen were rushing to get the hose back there and sadly enough by the gate there was a TON of ice so they kept slipping and just made it difficult for them but they got the hose there and started to put stuff out. They had asked us if there was anything in the shed and there was a couple gas tanks and other such things. So everyone was worried about some kind of big explosion. We had a couple people come and ask Skyeler questions about what happened and he told them the story about the dumb gingerbread castle and that they had put TONS of snow on it to put everything out. As the Firemen were on their way out they said that they would keep an eye on it tonight and one guy joked that it was Arson by the gingerbread man. I guess the gingerbread man wasn't to happy that we distroyed his castle.

After all is said and done with it was around 3 ish or a little before, before we went back downstairs to get ready for bed again. This morning we went out to look at the damage that was done and it doesn't look good. Lots of stuff is meleted and ruined in the shed. (dumb tin shed) and of course on the side the dog house and everything that was under it was compteletely distoryed. Pics will eventually follow. Again i'm not sure where I put the cord that goes to the computer to the camera so it might be a while.

I'm just glad that nobody was hurt. Our dog was shaken up because of the lights and all the people showing up. (Peanut is really scared of the lights, I was taking him for a walk once and a cop car with his lights zoomed passed us and Peanut did a 360 jump in the air as the car passed. HE HE it was SOOOOO funny.) But once I comforted the dog he just kinda sat in the chair not knowing what was going on. I am also glad that people can't sleep at 1:00 am and that some passerby who was on a walk around that time had called 911. I also feel really bad for Skyeler cause he feels horrible about everything. Ya there are proably other things we could have done to keep the dog away from the burnt gingerbread house but it was an accident and nobody knows what will happen. But I am glad that nothing more happened and that it didn't get anywhere near the house.

Bathroom remodel

Skyeler and I have been in serious need of a bigger bathroom. I am really not exaggerating when I say it is only 6x6 area. It might be a bit bigger than that but really our closet could be bigger than the bathroom.

With our remodel the only thing that is going to stay the same is the toilet. everything else is gone and being updated. That includes the floor, ceiling, and pipes. We are going to put in a tub/shower instead of having just a shower that is only at a max of 2x2. ok I really don't know the exact measurements but everything is super tiny. So as of right now we have all the walls down and only the toilet is standing. We are going to take some space from the hallway and spare room in order to fit in everything. This will give us enough space to move around.

Since everything is torn apart we just need to finish up some last little parts of the plumbing and replace the floor and ceiling then put some insulation in a couple of walls, build some walls. ( on the outside wall there is sheetrock on the cement foundation, no studs and NO insulation.) After we get the ceiling, floor and walls all put up we can paint and put in all of our new things like a new vanity and tub. YAY! I'm so excited for the way that it is going to look. I really think the colors of everything is going to be AWESOME!! I would put up some pictures but i have misplace the cord that goes from the camera to the computer. OH well so whenever I find it I will put up some before, during, and after pics. I'm excited!

UVU Advisor Issues

Did you guys know that advisors can be a really big pain in the butt! Bascially at the end of spring semester '10 I thought I had all that I needed for my Associates degree in Behavioral Science. Well after talking to my advisor she said that I needed one more class and that I should take some dance class or something like that and those are only 1 credit. So I took a music class this semester and was planning to transfer it to UVU and then get my associates and transfer that back to USU. Well after asking my advisor about my credits she said I had enough for a Associates in Integrated Studies. I was confused so I started looking stuff up and the graduation planner thing and I looked up both the integrated studies and the behavioral sceince degree. Well witht the integrated studies it didn't use some of my classes from UVU and only some from USU one of which was NOT the music class. I then looked at the behavioral science degree and it didn't even use any of the USU credit/classes and still had 100% completion. WHAT!!!! so needless to say that I had my associates and didn't need to go through all the extra crap that I did becaus of the Advisor didn't know what she was talking about. GRRR.

So now I have applied for my graduation/degree and will have the new transcript sent over to USU so hopefully it will take off a couple general courses that USU requires that UVU doesn't. SO.. hopefully I will be closer to getting my bachelors!! YAY, even though it is still going to be a while before I get it.

I'm at least glad that it was only one class that I didn't need instead of an intire semester or more of waisted time. It really could have been alot worse that what it was. I'm just glad that I am one step closer to finishing and I will have something to show for my efforts soon. I'm also glad that my advisor at USU is better and actually looks into stuff before telling me things. I'm really glad that I will be working with him instead of the one over at UVU.

Christmas & New Yrs 2010

I know I am a little late with mentioning anything about Christmas, but at least I get around to it. My lap top decided that it didn't want to work becasue of something weird so we had to take it to Dr. Tyler to see if he could get it working. That was a couple weeks ago when we went up to Bountiful to have our yearly Kunzler Christmas concert. But finally it is better and we can get some stuff done. Lucky for us all of our stuff was still on there and we didn't loose anything.

Christmas this yr or I should say last yr we spend in Blanding with Skyeler's parents. It was enjoyable. We made it down the evening of the 24th after Skyeler got off work and a rushed visit with Ryan and Alex. Once we got there we went straight over to grandma and grandpa Orr's house for a enjoyable evening with the story of Christs brith. Skyeler and I then went and hung out with Austin (Sky's cousin) and his new fiance Valerie. I'm so excited for them!!
Christmas morning we managed to sleep in till 8:30am. I could have slept in longer but hey it was Christmas, so we got up and opened gifts. Skyeler got new Pj's and he got me a Amazon Kindle. Yes there is quite a price differnce between pj's and a electronic book. But Sky spends more money than I do during the year when he buys $60.00 video games. So it evens out. Either way we were both happy and very blessed with the love from our of family and friends.

New yrs was a little different. Tyler was able to come down from Orem and spend a couple days with us. It was so nice to have hime over and watch him and Sky get so excited over making squibs for future movies. I have to say that was fun. Leave it to two boys to find explosives and fake blood. Only sad part is that I started to get sick and so ever since the first of this yr I have had a bad cold full of headaches, sinus issues, sore throat, and back aches. Oh well at least it is still during the break so hopefully by next Wednesday I will be better for my first day of school. I'm excited to get started so I can hurry and get another semester behind me.
