Mikena Swimming For The First Time!

Tonight we went swimming for the first time with Mikena. I was a little hesitant on what she was going to do but I really think she loved it. She even started kicking her legs and doing the instinctual kicking of the legs and basically the dog paddle. It was a lot of fun and I'm sure we are going to go again soon.

Skyeler took his GoPro and we were able to take some pictures and video of her swimming and us just being able to enjoy our time together.

Anyway some of these pics aren't awesome. I was taking them with the GoPro and I think I was a little snap happy and wasn't paying attention to holding it very still. HA.

Most likely we will be going to the pool A LOT. So feel free to join us!

Switchfoot Concert!

For Valentines Day I got Skyeler concert tickets to Switchfoot. (His favorite band....and becoming mine) The concert was April 22 and it was a lot of fun. We were like old people and actually sat in the back on some chairs that they had on this platform thing. I think I enjoyed it better there rather than having everyone in my bubble and having to stand the entire time.

I love that I came away feeling lifted up because of the overall message. Things such as "love alone is worth the fight", "we were meant to live for so much more", "we are more than this world has to offer". I wish there were more bands out there that would choose to lift others up and be an example of respect and love for other people like switchfoot does. You never hear swearing or anything vulgar coming from them. I really appreciate this band and the Christ like example that they show in their music as well as in their personal life. We recently saw a video that had protesters in front of the building where they were having a concert and the protesters were calling them the devil etc.... and John Forman (lead singer) just said show them love and you actually see him in the video handing out water to them. 

So all in all it was AWESOME and we will most likely go again when they are in Salt Lake.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my birthday and I am now closer to 30 than I am to 20. Weird... But I have had a wonderful day. I didn't do anything really exciting but I just love knowing that people are thinking of me and that they take the time to call, text, or send me a message. Just makes someone feel warm and fuzzy.

Lately Mikena has been really funny. I know I say that a lot but she is just funny a lot! For some reason I can't think of specifics even though I know there is something I wanted to share. Oh well I will think of it eventually and get back to you.

Mikena has been climbing on everything that includes shelves in the refrigerator! She will go throw away her diaper when you ask her. (until she throws it down the stairs). umm. in all reality she is just awesome and I have loved spending my day with her. 

It got really quiet at lunchtime

So today I had Mikena eating lunch in the Kitchen while I was checking some stuff on the computer. She was eating just fine and nothing exciting happening. Then... all of a sudden it got really quiet.... too quiet. Mikena usually is jabbering or throwing food on the ground and I couldn't hear the baby talk or the food splatting. So I look around the corner from where I was sitting to this....

She was obviously really tired.. ESPECIALLY since I had taken the tray from her and took off her bib. She would just look around and basically drop her head and fall asleep again. I really love it when she does that.
