Sky's Photography, Memorial Day 2013

Skyeler sure does love to take pictures. All these were taken at night and I think they look really cool. But that is just me.

Memorial Day 2013

For Memorial Day weekend we went to Richfield. Skyeler has been wanting to go visit his dad for quite some time and his brother had just graduated High School and then there were his older two siblings that still hadn't met Mikena yet. So there were lots of reasons for going. I was a little hesitant cause we haven't traveled that far with Mikena (I know it was only a two hour drive) and there were going to be a ton of people in the house and I get a little weird when there are tons of people around when I need to feed Mikena.
But long story short it was fine. Mikena did really well and we enjoyed our time.We had a very busy weekend though between having many people meet Mikena and spending time with family and the activities planned. We went 4-wheeling up to the area that we went shooting, (Mikena stayed behind with Grandma and Aunt Shalain) came back and had a bbq/dinner, family pics, and then went over to Mom and Toms and had a marshmallow roast with Jessica and Daniel and a bunch of other people. That was quite fun. I do love smores and roasting stuff over the fire.

On Monday Skyeler and I got ready to head back home. Before leaving we stopped off at the cemetery... I do love seeing all the flags and flowers that flood the area.We stopped off at my Great Grandma and Grandpa Manwells, Grandma and Grandpa Kunzler and Aunt Kathy's graves. I can't believe how long it has been since I have seen them and I miss them terribly. Especially since we have had Mikena. I would love to have her know them and to know how amazing these people are. I don't go more than a couple of days without thinking of them and just wishing I could talk with them.

These people really have influenced my life a great deal and I am so blessed to have the gospel in my life and that Families are Forever. I can't wait until I can see them again. I impatiently await that day.

3 Months

Happy 3 months Mikena Capri!!!
Here are a bunch of pictures that I took today. All but one is Mikena with her Daddies Army uniform. I think they turned out super cute. I do want to take a few of them and do something for Father's day but I just don't know what. Any ideas????

The last two I took with my phone. Sadly those are 2 of my favorites and I just hope that if I decide to use them for anything they can have the same quality as the camera pics.

  Things about Mikena:
* Loves to listen to Dad sing. She always gets super smiley when he does.
* She has been sleeping VERY well at night. Naps during the day are almost non existent though and she wants to eat and eat but at least we can all get our sleep at night.
* Getting close to laughing. I heard her once but she doesn't do it very often
* Very talkative.
* Loves to sit on your lap and watch TV with you or just observe her environment.
* Always willing to be held by anyone.
* Loves to be the center of attention.

12 Weeks Old

Guess who is 12 weeks and has started to laugh!!!!!! That's right MIKENA!! She laughed for the first time yesterday. It was a very small laugh but it was a laugh. Still trying to get her to do it again but it will come. I think she just likes to make coo's and smile big rather than laugh.
I took these photos today and the first outfit she drooled all over so I put her in the orange one and lets face it.... Mikena looks good in every color! She is just a cute baby.
Nom nom

I can't believe she will be 3 months on Monday. Where has my time been going... oh wait all my time and attention is on her! :)

Mikena's first hike

Last weekend Skyeler and I took Mikena on her first hike! It wasn't very long because lets face it 7-8 months of feeling sick constantly and then having a baby REALLY takes a toll on ones body. Plus it was super hot and I was worried that Mikena was getting to much sun. But really I was worn out!

Me and my Daddy!

Mom and I on my first hike.

Hanging out in Mom and Dad's bed!

Home organized. Halfway check.

Lately I have been quite busy and haven't had a chance to blog. It is amazing how much time a baby takes. Then having to choose between showering, personal time, cleaning, or taking a nap when Mikena is sleeping is quite the decision to make.  Especially since she doesn't nap all that much during the day. Sometimes she is cooperative and will sit patiently and watch me work on something but mostly she wants my attention. I think she is going to be a kid (like her daddy) who loves attention and loves to be in the center of everything. But who knows maybe she will be like me and not want that much attention.

So I finally have the apartment mostly organized. There are still a few things here and there that needs to be done as we are trying to find the right place for everything. So we rearrange and un-rearrange quite a bit. Then there are issues that need to be taken care of by the land lord and he hasn't called or come to fix anything until today. But at least he is putting in the cooling unit today cause if I have to deal with the heat and no way to cool me or Mikena down any longer I was going to turn green and go all crazy on everyone. I just find it frustrating that the property manager said he would come by at some point during the first week we were here to fix some things like; a HUGE hole in the bathroom, (the plumbers had to put in a new connection for the washer) outlet cover, little things on cupboard doors so they close and don't open back up, hot water pressure in the bathroom sink, and a tile that needed to be put back in place and didn't show up till today. I just hope he fixes everything. Oh and then yesterday as I was making myself some lunch the toaster and microwave just stopped working! gaaa it just seems like nothing works in this apartment. Oh and I almost forgot the tub doesn't drain very well because of the really old plumbing and so it is our responsibility to get industrial grade stuff every 3 weeks or so to unplug it. (we are reimbursed for it) but if you make your tenants do that it is just time to upgrade your pipes.

The joys of old apartment right. I think if we are not able to buy a house at the end of this lease we will at least get a bigger apartment but maybe not have the older buildings like this. I guess we will have to see what life brings.  Lately life has brought lots of changes and we are just trying to catch up right now. Do you thing anyone catches up with life?
