I don't really know what to blog about even though it has been a long time since I have blogged a decent post and not just small things with pictures.

Mikena is learning and growing... Her vocabulary is really exploding. Last month at her 18 mo appointment i was thinking of the words she knew how to say and I figured it was 10+ approximately. Now.... She is trying to say a lot of words. We will be talking to her and she tries to say one of the words and it always surprises me how well she can say them. Especially for the first time. She really is getting better.

We went to the park the other day and Mikena LOVED the swings. She would go walk over to them when no-one was around and would stand in front of one and put her hand on it like she was saving it for herself. Then she would wait patiently for me to come get her up in the swing. 

She also enjoys playing with her friend Ryker. This is the first time she has returned affection. Usually she is running away while he chases her. 

I don't think she was too happy about him sticking his finger up his nose. 

Miss Adeline and Mikena had a play date and loved to read books. We are SOOOO happy that our friend is home from her summer stay in D.C. We missed her.

We are working on the sharing but it is kind of hard when people come into your space and play with your toys. She is doing better though. 

I also took a ball away from this kid at the park.... In my defense he took the ball away from Mikena first and I was just getting it back after he was so rude. Come to find out he was taking things from all the kids and had pushed our friend Ryker.... Lets just say mommy bear was coming out and so I watched him and he would throw the ball down the slides and then slide down after the ball. Well I ran over to the slide picked up the ball before he got down and walked off with it. He then comes up to me telling me that he was playing with it etc.. I basically told him I'm sorry but you took this away from someone else while they were playing with it and it isn't yours. He just stared at me and walked off all mad. I felt bad of course but seriously you don't take a ball away from a little kid when they are playing with it. (he he even though I just admitted that I did that) I would have let him play with the ball if it was under different circumstances. For example if Mikena wasn't playing with it and it was just sitting on the ground instead of him watching her throw it and then go and take it away. Of course he would have to ask. That is a big part. I asked my mommy friends if that was rude of me and they said no cause the kid was bulling all their kids.

Bad Crazy!

Well there are lots of things happening our way... Most of them in a crazy bad way. But we are slowly getting over all of it and getting life back to normal YAY!

Here are a few of our bad crazy things....

Skyeler was trying to be a helpful and good individual and help this lady out.... Well she ended up stealing some of my stuff including: my wallet, keys, makeup, lotion, tweezers, and swimsuit. Random I know... We got half of my wallet and my keys back though! So I have had to go and replace a lot of those items. Sad thing is I just renewed my drivers license 3 months ago.... Seriously, she couldn't have stolen it before I renewed it. She almost got away with Sky's camera but luckily she didn't. (long story seriously)

Mikena hasn't been feeling well. She threw up her bottle of milk two mornings in a row and then refused to drink out of a bottle or sippy cup. It really stressed me out because I didn't know if she was getting enough fluids or what. Plus she was super moody and fussy and it really had a negative effect on me.

Then a bunch of other stress that I don't want to bore you about but I am happy to say that all this is behind us Mikena is feeling better. I have new debit cards and drivers license. Found all our keys.. etc.. anyway it was crazy and I am glad to still have my mind.

Happy half birthday- 18 months

Like I say a lot..... holy crap where is the time going?  Mikena is now 18 months old. Time had flown way to quickly!

Mikena as of late has been talking and signing more, I love her little voice. She is also learning that she can scream and make really loud annoying sounds as well as figured out tantrums, or at least started throwing bigger ones. She will also at times not let you put her down. And if you do cries. She has tons abs tons of energy and very stubborn. I think she acts like me the most do if that is the case we should have interesting times coming our way.

I just love her though. New tantrums and saying no to everything included. She is such a special girl and she makes me want to be a better person. I hope that I can always be there for her in the ways she needs. I am excited to continue to watch her grow and learn. She is just so smart.

Here are some pics of Mikena as of late. She loves to play with daddy's Army beret.

Have I ever mentioned that Mikena loves to climb. Yesterday sky was making dinner and I looked over at Mikena and she was on the table. Seesh. It scared me, but obviously not enough that I couldn't take a picture first. Mikena is usually really good with knowing get limits and doesn't fall off to many things. It's funny when you know she is judging something. She really is smart! 

 Mikena loves to play outside so I using turn the hose on just a little and it will occupy her for 45 min. Then she starts to wander around. She has also started to make funny faces at the camera!

I love books!

Today after church Sky and I were starting to make some lunch and we noticed that Mikena had climbed up on the couch and was sitting with a book babbling. It was really cute and I love that she enjoys books. I could be reading to get more but I guess what I am doing is enough for her to pick it up on her own ond to let me know that she would like to be read to. 

16 Months

So its been a while since I have posted anything about Mikena. HA HA .. Not. My life is her so that is what you get to read about.

Tomorrow Mikena will be 16 months and boy is she a handful.

Mikena lately.
* Talks and Talks.. She can say Turtle, Tiger (toys she got from our vacation), Bubbles, dada, dog, etc. Lately Mikena will meow like a cat and it is super funny.
* Loves to climb. She will climb on anything that she possibly can. It kinda drives me crazy.
* Wants to be independent by doing everything herself. She doesn't want me to hand her anything.
* Constantly on the go go go go go. It is difficult to get her to sit still. Unless she is in her car seat or high chair.
* Loves to cuddle mom and is still a big mommy's girl.
* Gives hugs and kisses.

A Family Vacation... WHAT???

Skyeler and I have been married 6.5 years and the last vacation that we took for ourselves was the honeymoon. That's a long time. In all reality we wouldn't have been able to go if it wasn't for my amazing parents and gifting us with a hotel stay with their time share points!!

Our trip included Driving 10-11 hours, Vegas, San Diego Zoo, Beach, U.S.S. Midway, Mormon Battalion Museum, Sea World, San Diego Temple, visiting Sky's battle buddies, and meeting great grandma and grandpa!

There is just so much I could say about this vacation. It was so much fun watching Mikena explore and enjoy new things. She got so excited over EVERYTHING. My Favorite was the beach and having Mikena pull her wagon everywhere. It was SOOOO cute.


Sunday after we got to the hotel we walked across the street to the park where Mikena would chase ducks and squirrels.

 Monday we went to the Zoo. Mikena Loved Monkeys, Flamingos, Ducks, and Squirrels. She couldn't get enough of looking at all the animals and was very upset any time we would walk away before she was done looking.

Tuesday we went to the USS Midway where we were able to tour a aircraft carrier. We even got into some of the planes they had there. Mikena LOVED it.

 Wednesday was the day we went to Sea World. Mikena liked to look at the sea creatures but didn't like to touch them. Mommy and Daddy even got to feed a Bat Ray! (Kinda creepy actually)

Thursday was a favorite day. We went to the the La Jolla Beach. Mikena LOVED the beach. She loved to pull her wagon, destroy sand towers (they didn't quite make it to castles), socialize with all the people, make new friends, roll in the sand, sit in sand holes, and run away from the ocean waves. (Literally... she ran away from the little tiny ocean waves.)

Friday was our lazy day. We went to the San Diego temple and walked around the temple grounds. It was so peaceful. (Until 2 weddings ended) Mikena loved the flowers. We are trying to get her to smell the flowers but she much rather just blow on them. We do that with the dandelions so that is where she gets it from. 

Saturday we packed up everything and started our drive home. We were able to see people that we haven't seen in a long time. We saw Skyeler's battle buddies from Maryland. Then we got to see Great grandma and grandpa. (Skyeler Dad's parents) It was such a blessing to be able to go and have fun. My overall favorite was to see Mikena get so happy and excited over the beach and all the animals. I love her!
