Christmas 2013

                                                         MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
This year Skyeler and I were able to celebrate Christmas twice. We had our own Christmas on the 22nd with just Skyeler, Mikena, and I on our own. Then we headed down to Blanding and had Christmas there.
Usually Christmas is a bit boring to me, (I know that's super lame.... But I just dislike all the "Santa" stuff and what not) but this year I had sooooo much fun. The only difference is that we have Mikena. I loved getting/making her stuff and waiting to see if she would open them. Mikena did well opening her gifts when it was just Sky and I and then when Grandma and Grandpa Kunzler came to give her her pj's, but not so much when we were in Blanding.

So a really funny story. We were opening gifts in Blanding and Mikena got a little baby doll. I then took the baby doll and got it out of the package and gave it to Mikena to play with/look at. She immediately took the baby doll and cradled it in her arms and then gave it kisses. She did that all on her own with no help or prompting from anyone. It was SOOOO CUTE!!

All in all we had a great Christmas. I loved how Mikena was the center of attention and got a lot of love from so many people. She really is a special little girl and I love her TONS!

Mikena is 10 Months!

Again HOLY CRAP time flies. Mikena is 10 months and still adorable!

• Loves Oranges.
• Loves her daddy but still a momma's girl.
• Has 2 teeth.
• Might have some baby acid reflux going on. We'll see if that is what it is in time.
• Getting closer to walking still needs some confidence.
• Is awesome with baby sitters.

Family Pictures 2013

Skyeler and I FINALLY got some family pictures taken. I love getting family pictures done even though it doesn't happen very often for us. Luckily we found an amazing photographer and the price was just right!

9 Months!

Mikena is 9 months old today. That is the length of a pregnancy and it is crazy weird for me to think that.

                   9 Months

• If there is a mixture of puffs and Cherrios Mikena will ALWAYS eat all the puffs and leave the Cheerios.
• Still a momma's girl and would much rather be with mom than anyone else.
• Has a tooth that wants to come in but instead sits and takes its time.
• Loves toys that make sounds and has lights.
• Starting to dance to music.
• Can be sensitive and bit temperamental when friends are in her face, but still loves to play with them.
• Found her outside voice and can be very loud.
• Has started to stand up to things and start pulling off whatever it is on top of those items. 
• LOVES baths, if the bathroom door is open she will go straight to the bathtub and want to get in.

Baby Stuff for Kayli

So back in August Skyeler was gone for 3 WHOLE weeks. So during that time I decided to make my very first blanket! I decided to make it for my niece who was to arrive the next month. I think it turned out great even if it did take me all day for 3 weeks to make it! I kinda wish I would have used some different yarn to make it soft... but hey. I didn't really know I was making it for Kayli until I was a good way into it.

 Then once I was close to being done with the blanket I decided to go all out! Here are the matching hat and booties. I have made a hat before but I had made them a different way. I have to say I really like the way I made this one. Just seems less beginner-ish.

I was going to try to trick Alex (Kayli's Mommy) into telling me what kind of foot covering she liked by showing her some pics on my pinterest board. Well on that board I had some pictures of a Despicable ME minion hat.I totally forgot that they liked the minions and whatnot. Well long story short she messaged me saying that she would pay me to make the minion hat. (So much for getting the info I wanted on the booties). So I made the hat and decided yet again to go all out and make a diaper cover and barefoot sandals.

So It was a lot of fun making these items and I felt like I was able to increase my crocheting abilities. I can say I am an advanced beginner!!

Baby Blanket for Brynn!

This past month I have been working on a baby blanket for Skyeler's battle buddy and his wife and the new arrival that they soon would be having and now have had. Lets just say this little one is adorable! When I found out that our friend was in labor I was 2.5 rows away and just needed to do the border and some flowers. I felt like I was racing nature. Long story (not that long) short baby Brynn beat me. Their little bundle arrived before I finished but that's ok, at least I am going to be sending it off and they will have it this week!

Happy Halloween!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I have to say this year was a lot more fun than any year ever... I think it is only because I have miss Mikena to dress up. Seriously it was a TON of fun. On Wednesday the 30th we went to Bountiful and joined the family at Dad and Kandie's Trunk or Treat. I LOVED IT, it was so fun to show everyone Mikena in her costume. When we got there everyone had already started eating the yummy soups so we hurried and got some. After dinner all the kids were party of a parade to show everyone their costume and I had Mikena walk across the stage along with her cousins!

 After the parade we all went out to the parking lot where the trunk or treat was going to be. In all reality I like trunk or treat better than going around the neighborhoods.

 Once we got home Mikena went STRAIGHT to bed. The next few pictures were her on Halloween and I figured we just had to get some pictures of her in her costume, with her bucket, and candy! She was SOOOO fascinated with all the wrappers and the colors! (obviously she hasn't had candy before). Until yesterday when we let her lick a grape dum dum.

I really did have SO much fun with her even though this is my least favorite holiday. I am excited for the next few months and just enjoying watching Mikena as she experiences these upcoming holidays!
