Visitors - mini vacation

This past week we had the opportunity to have visitors come to our house for a week. Dad and Kandie came out to visit and to explore the area and learn and see some of our American History sites. It was so much fun to go out and explore and to have family near.
For a little while I was getting concerned about how much time we were going to be able to spend together because it was only a week before that I had to go and get another IV for dehydration. So I was praying and hoping that I was going to feel well enough to go and explore with them. Well prayers were answered and I was able to go out all but one day. That one day I didn't go was the last day of exploring and I wasn't feeling well due to not drinking enough water (I drank a lot more than normal but not enough for exploring) and so I stayed home to hydrate myself and to hover the toilet for a bit. But by afternoon I was feeling better, probably because I slept for the major portion of the day.

The first day we were able to see them we explored Philadelphia PA. I have never been there and I love going to new places. Dad and Kandie took a lot more photos so you will have to bug them for more but I will put up a few from what I have.

(Liberty Bell)

Funny story- our tour guide person was quite funny and at the end of this tour she mentioned that on the table was Ben Franklins real green glasses. She also continued to say that they better be there and that nobody should take them out of this room or upstairs to go look for that brick. HE HE (National Treasure)

Independence Hall.

On Monday we went to MT. Vernon in Virgina. It was only Dad, Kandie, and I since Sky had school but it was still fun. We ended up doing the National Treasure tour and it was really cool. So that tour was basically to go behind the scenes of National Treasure 2 Book of Secrets. They had filmed on location for the Presidents birthday party in the movie. It was a lot of fun but it was filled with lots of walking.

Front of George Washington's home.

Back of George Washington's home.

Sitting on the Back Porch.

The view from the back of the house. AMAZING!!

On our tour going down in the Basement. (not everyone got to do this)
There isn't much of a baby bump but eventually.

On Thursday we went into D.C. and went on 2 walking tours (lots of fun) and we basically spend 12 hrs on our feet. But we got to see many of the monuments/memorials. I haven't been able to see most of them since we chose to check out the museums. But there is still so much to see. If you want to see everything you need more than a week in just D.C. Sadly Dad and Kandie only had a week for EVERYTHING. I still wish I could have shown them Ellicot City.

Interesting Facts about our trip to Gettysburg... One of the main Generals that went up against Lee was a guy named George G. Meade. That is right this is the guy that the Military installation that I live on is named after. HOLY crap I really got some history about this guy and it was really kinda cool to learn about him. I mean come on I live on Fort George G. Meade, MD. I now want to go to the museum here on post and learn more. I really was not expecting that.

But here is a pic of an AWESOME sunset. Of course it doesn't do it justice but it was just beautiful.

Overall I really enjoyed exploring with my parents. I wish they had more time to see everything that they wanted but I did warn them there is just simply too much to see out here. But we were able to go to the D.C. Temple and it was also enjoyable. I had to show them the view of the temple from the road because it is just amazing! One day I will get a pic or you can just ask them for one. I think they managed to get one of it.

Special Delievery Announced.

Well everyone the time has come to start to announce what most of you already know or have figured out. We are pregnant.
So far it has been quite a trial to stay hydrated and something in my system. I was so use to eating maybe once a day and I would hardly drink any water so now that I have to it is really hard to get into that habit. Hence why last night I had to go to the E.R. to get another I.V. NO I didn't take pictures of this one sorry. But Skyeler was there to keep me company and the majority of the time I had a nurse or someone in there trying to use a hand-held dopler and try to hear the baby's heartbeat. But they only got mine. HA ha.. So later they took me in for an Ultrasound and we got this lovely picture.

What I love about this is that you can see a little foot right above the belly. Plus you can see the face and overall it is a good pic. Especially for my first ultrasound pic ever.

I think the best part is that Skyeler got to be there and see the ultrasound and be able to see for himself the heartbeat and the baby. He had such a HUGE smile on his face and it was just really special to watch him watch the screen. I am still trying to get use to the idea of being a parents and having this HUGE life change but I just love the idea of doing all this with my husband. He is such a strength to me and I love his excitement over starting our family. So slowly I am getting more and more excited.

HONOR Graduate!

Today Skyeler graduated BSP (Basic Still Photography) here at Fort Meade. He was #3 in his class and his overall percentage was higher than 90% so he was an Honor Graduate. I am so proud of him. He really did well and his instructors loved him. They didn't have anything but positive compliments and words about him. It really made my heart happy. I was so close to tears through the whole ceremony but that is normal for someone with my condition. :) I just know how hard he worked and how much he loved learning. He really is an amazing guy. I feel so blessed to have him as my Husband. I am just so happy for him.

A short video. I know I cut it off kinda close but I wanted to get some pics!
PFC Lucero at DINFOS receives his Honor Graduate Diploma after 12 weeks of training.

Skyeler after graduation holding his Diploma!

So now we are halfway done with our(Skyeler's) AIT adventure. Only a few more months and Skyeler will be finishing his VPD (Video Production/Documentation)class and he will go off to airborne in Georgia and I will go back to Utah. I can't believe how fast the past few months have gone. I still feel like I should be waiting for him to graduate basic training. (Never want to do that again) But things are going well and we are able to enjoy our adventure.

Congratulation's Skyeler I am so very proud of you and all your hard work!

You better give me an IV!

Well about 2 weeks ago I was feeling quite crappy. Most of you know why but since I haven't told everyone about that I am not going to go into details.

Anyway I had been throwing up a ton. I was feeling so super sick I could NOT keep anything down and I was having a miserable week. Finally I got so sick of being sick and throwing up every sip of water I had I decided to go to the hospital and get things checked out. Needless to say I was very dehydrated and my heart rate would change drastically between sitting, standing, and laying down. I knew I was dehydrated and I knew before I even called to come in that I was going to need an IV.

Well long story short I got an IV. Funny thing is I was going to be so mad if they sent me home without it. I did not want to be given pills and a go home note. I wanted the IV. Am I crazy. NAH when you felt like I did I'm positive you would have wanted it as well.

And of course like a nerd I took pics. But anyway I had to have 2 full bags of fluids. (2 Liters aka A LOT!) They also put some anti nausea meds into my iv as well. I kinda think the student doc thought I was kinda loopy. I wasn't loopy I was just feeling better. I felt lots better when they gave me some apple juice. I love apple juice and after barfing everything up the past couple days it was the best thing that stayed in my system ever.
I did end up with some meds to help me keep the nausea away. Only thing is I hate meds. I hate meds so much that I don't take vitamins. But I have taken a few and I am feeling better. I just don't take them as often as I should.

Anyway that is my story.... I wanted an IV and I'm glad that I got it. Even though my bruise is sticking around to tell me otherwise.

National Aquatium in Baltimore

Well a couple weeks ago Tyler came to visit us. Tyler is Skyeler's best-friend since they were kids. So it was really exciting and fun to have him come and visit especially since Sky and Ty haven't seen each other since February.

The Monday Tyler had to go home I took him to the National Aquarium in Baltimore. It was quite the adventure because yes I have been in Baltimore but I haven't been the driver. EEEK. But I managed obviously because hey I am typing this now and you haven't been to a funeral. Anyway we were going to go the Saturday before but things came up and we weren't able to but we did go to the Ripley's believe it or not Museum. That was really cool. Maybe I will blog about that as well.

Anyway, as soon as you get there they take your picture. We really were not interested in seeing what it looked liked because one I wasn't feeling well and Tyler hates having his pic taken. Also it would be a little weird having the 2 of us in a pic together without the AMAZING Skyeler. (Yes he is amazing).... You will have to read my blog post that I will be writing about tomorrow!!!!

I was really surprised that it wasn't bigger. It seemed so big but yet on the inside it seemed so small. But it was cool and I enjoyed my time. I really missed Skyeler and so I will just have to take him next time. But here are a few pics of the Aquarium.

By far my FAVORITE was watching the "Jellies". Jellyfish are so cool. The Turtles are too. Especially the snake necked turtle. That was the one with the really long neck. It was CRAZY!. The last one was just funny. He was just sitting there he wasn't stuck or anything. Just chillin.

Another favorite was watching the Dolphins. They really are amazing creatures. We watched two shows and I loved them both. I wish we would have had more time so we could have watched more. Oh well. Maybe when I go with Skyeler we will spend the whole day there just so we can watch the shows and take our time reading all the information.
EDIT!! I found my awesome videos that I wanted to share.
