Pre-Military Pics

Skyeler leaves for Basic Training in 5 days. I can't believe it has come so fast and is so close! I'm so ready for it but then again I'm not.
Today we had some pictures taken of us. Thanks again Becky they are AWESOME! We decided that since the only pictures we really have of us are from our wedding and that was four years ago and not outdated but Skyeler and I have changed a little and wanted some newer ones. So we set out into the snow and got some amazing pictures.

I have to say that it is really hard trying to update photos when you don't have kids because they just look like engagements. I am glad that we were able to take some more pictures. I feel like I can do some crafts and actually have some cute and current pics instead of having everything from our wedding. It was a lot of fun and I think we will probably do something similar once Skyeler gets home from all of his training. Something to look forward to.

Patriot

Since Skyeler is leaving for basic training in less than 2 weeks we decided that we wanted to do something special or something for when he leaves. I was talking to my friend and I asked her what could we do so I could have something tangible that I could have for when Skyeler is gone and I'm all alone. Something sentimental. My friend said that she knows somebody that they went to build a bear and made a soldier bear. I really loved that idea. I told Skyeler about it and he said that would be a good idea and so we looked up some bears online and we found the perfect outfit. So today we went to Build a Bear and made this little guy.

That was an interesting experience for two adults to go into a little kid store. We get there and there was only the one or two employees and then Skyeler and I. I was a little embarrassed. But we were talking to the lady and she said she liked this one or that one and that this certain one wouldn't work with the outfit. I think she really liked her job. So we picked out the skin we wanted and had her stuff the bear and she told Sky that he had to pick out this little heart thing and make a wish and kiss it then put it in the bear. Once we finished that she had us go "wash" the bear. In all reality you put it on this thing that looked like a bath tub and had it blow air on it. After that unneeded step was finished we dressed the bear and had to go name it. Sky and I really didn't know what to name it, but I think we picked something that was fitting. The bear is named Patriot.

So all in all it was very interesting for us, but we really like our bear and I think I'll be taking this bear around with me everywhere once Skyeler leaves. I just hope it makes it less difficult being without him for 3ish months till we know for sure if I can go to Maryland.

New Year!

Wow, It has been a little bit since I last updated this silly thing. A lot and not a lot has happened since then.

Christmas was spent in Blanding and we were able to enjoy our time there. New years was spent in Bountiful and I spent the majority of that time reading. OH boy that was really fun. I love reading and for Christmas I got 11 new books!!!

Well as of Right now as I am typing it is 10:00 pm Skyeler has exactly 15 days before he has to be at a hotel in Salt Lake so he can leave for basic. I am really running out of time FAST! I am not looking forward to him leaving. I think I depend on him to much so it is going to make things very difficult.
But we did see in Skyelers orders that any training over 20 weeks dependents can go. SO...... I am probably going to Ft. Meade in Maryland in May. I am getting really excited about that. It is about 45 min from Washington D.C. So basically we are going to be site seeing A LOT on weekends. I'm excited for that possibility. I hope it happens and that things will work out for us. I really don't want to have to spend 10 months a lone. I hope I get to go!
