Birthday and Work

Well there hasn't been much going on here lately. Except trying to juggle full-time work, full-time school and a home life. I recently asked work if I could only work 4 days since it is the last couple weeks of school and I'll have all my exams and papers due. They said it was fine and so this week I was suppose to have Tuesday - Thursday off but on Tuesday I had to go to the First Aid training and I guess 2 of the other 4 people who was suppose to work that day called in so when I started watching a video in order to drive the huge vans a lady came up and asked me to work. :P I agreed but my test I had the next morning really suffered the consequences. OH it was really funny though at the end of the shift when my supervisor found another person who knows my dad really well. He has found 2 this week alone. Funny huh. It seems like they pop out of the snow like daisies.

Now that I'm getting into the swing of things I will tell you what happens on a 3-11 shift. Once the kids get out of school we have roll call and make sure all the girls are there and we have the level 2-5 in the lodge or out in the sun while the level 1's either hike or clean out the vans. Now that it is getting warmer they will probably start going out and pulling weeds. That happens from 3ish - 5 and at 5 we have dinner. What is awesome is that the staff eats with the students and it is FREE! YAY, I've worked at places that even if there is left overs they would make you pay 2-5 buck per meal. LAME but here it is free and a lot of it is homemade. After dinner the girls clean the lodge and at 6 depending on the staff and weather we will separate the levels. Level 1 will be either in the level one room or out cleaning something while level 2-5 are watching movies or doing more exciting and fun activities. At 9 we clean up and whoever needs meds gets them and by 9 30 we are out by the cabins and the kids get ready for bed and by 10:15 it is lights out and we check on the girls every so often and wait for the over night shift and head up to make sure everything is charted if needed and once all is well we go home. It makes for a long day but it is really satisfying when the girls have fun and you see them being happy. I'm glad that I can be there to help out, even though there is still A LOT more for me to learn I'll eventually get there.

Oh I guess I could totally talk about my birthday that was this week!! I am now 23 and I still feel like I'm a 18-20 yr old. But anyway I asked for the day off of work because I really didn't want to deal with bratty / dramatic teenage girls. So Sky and I went to church and after we took the dogs and went up into the hills for a nice hike. It was enjoyable because the weather was around 70.

On Saturday at work Gina (coworker) and I took 5 girls up into the hills just south of Koosharem and built a fire and cooked hamburgers and roasted marshmallows. It was alot of fun and I think the girls had fun as well. It was a awesome start to my birthday weekend. When I got home Skyeler had some cake and ice cream for me and that night we went to dinner with Mom and Tom.

Needless to say that Skyeler spoiled me and just made the whole weekend an enjoyable one. I really appreciate all he does for me.

Now if I can just keep motivated long enough to get all my homework done before the end of the semester!

What Kunzler do you belong to?...

I have been having the most interseting time at work. One of the main reasons is that I will find random people who know exactly who I am and my entire family history and I will know nothing about these individuals. At times it is quite annoying becuase hey they know everything about you and you know nothing on a first meeting. But on the other hand I feel very blessed to come from the family that I do. My grandpa and grandma Kunzler really made our name known, unique, and special. I can say I'm a Kunzler and people will know just how good of people that my family is.

Here is a couple examples of my Random encounters.

On monday me and this guy Carl Torgenson took a couple girls into richfield for an activity. Well on the way down it was just "so where are you from?..", "I was born in Richfield." "well who are your parents?" "Bill Kunzler.......", "So your Uncle is Steve right?" "......YES.?!?!?!?!". "Your dad and Uncle Lamar baby sat me when I was younger and I am very good friends with Steve. I go Golfing with him ever other weekend or so. This past weekend I did this....." "HOLY CRAP" So basically when we got to where we had phone service Carl called my uncle steve and was chatting with him and I had to call my dad to see what he had to say. (Basically that when he was baby sitting, Carl would chase Lamar around with a butchers knife. JOY! Then once we got back and the shift was over we were having a small staff meeting and Carl turns to our superviser and said "guess who's niece we have working here!" as he was pointing to me and he said "we have Steve Kunzler's niece". So then my superviser looks at me and says "I go golfing with your uncle" etc etc etc...

There are two older ladies that work by the phones for when students are allowed to make phone calls to their parents and one lady Maxine asked where I was from and then who my parents were and I said I was a Kunzler and she asked "so that makes you a Manwell as well right. (Manwell is my grandma's maiden name) and I said yes and she started to list off all my relatives and this and that.. OH BOY!

The other lady I spoke to on monday after the encounter with Carl and she was suprised and said "So you're a Kunzler? Do you belong to Russ and Twila?" I told her that I did and she gave me the BEST compliment ever. "Well, You look like Twila now that you mention it." :) :)

I just LOVE that I come such a WONDERFUL family! It is just so overwhelming at times but just knowing that people think good things about my entire family is awesome. I can Honestly say that I am proud of who I am and my geneology.

So not work related, today while I was in class I had my 10 min break and a lady from the ward called and in relief society they do a newsletter and since my bithday is this month they wanted to do a little spot light. So some of the questions was who is your hero, where are you from, and your favorite book or author. Well during this conversation I mention Kunzler and my classmate asked "So you're a Kunzler, who do you belong to?" I said that I belong to Bill and she said that she worked with my Aunt Holly for about 10 yrs and that her dad worked at Whiting Motors with my Grandpa and that she knows my dad really well. So again I had to call my dad and ask him about everything and he knows Mark and really liked him. I guess Mark would go pick up cars when my dad couldn't. Then Dad told me some info on my classmate and again it was kind of overwhelming but again I don't think I could have come from a better family!

Again, I am Oh so very blessed for my Geneology and who I belong to and my family history. I just LOVE my name and who and what it stands for. I hope that as time goes on that I can make the Lucero name a good name just like Kunzler.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for being such WONDERFUL people and giving me such an awesome name!

Beagle, Boston Terrier, Jack Russell, Puggle, and a Norwegeain Forest Cat

Well this past weekend I have been watching Dax and Zoey for Ryan and Alex while they have been out of town. When I agreed to watching the puppies I didn't plan on working but hey, oh well.

Yesterday and today the 4 dogs have just LOVED being outside and running and running. Saturday the weather had actually been nice and once they got up and fed they were outside. They went all over the place and was non-stop. It was really funny when one puppy would grab a sock and make the other puppies chase him.

Here are the puppies when they were waiting to come inside!

I have to say that having 4 dogs and 1 cat in the house at any given time has been a bit overwhelming at times. (good thing I go to work) But I do think I have a good Idea what animal hoarders go through. Holy crap its whine whine bark bark, MEOOOOOOOOW, MEOOOOOOOOW. But I love puppies and have totally enjoyed being able to play with so many fluffy puppies!
